Basin Department of Water Resources of the Prut and Siret Rivers

  • A set of construction and installation works (construction of new and reconstruction of existing gauging stations, construction of 0.4 kV power lines, strengthening of shore and supports with gabions). The automatic hydrometeorological monitoring system was implemented at 24 hydrometeorological stations (level gauges, precipitation gauges and cable crossings) in Chernivtsi and Ivano-Frankivsk regions;
  • BKC-FloodMonitoring information and analytical system for predicting and assessing flood risks was developed and implemented. The system allows to carry out fast monitoring of the hydrometeorological situation, precipitation forecasting, modeling of flood scenarios, assessment of risks for infrastructure and population;
  • A car-based mobile hydrochemical laboratory was designed and implemented for fast response to accidental pollution and for conducting periodic observations on the chemical composition of ground and surface water;
  • A network of the emergency broadcast system was created in 7 settlements of Chernivtsi and Ivano-Frankivsk regions;
  • A security alarm system was installed in 24 hydrometeorological stations and in the control rooms;
  • A research of the archive database of meteorological observations in the rivers Prut and Siret was carried out and a database for calibration and verification of the components of the modeling subsystems was created;
  • A set of works on the improvement of 14 hydrometeorological stations was completed (shore protection works were carried out, passive ventilation and lighting were installed at the stations, self-contained power supply systems were mounted);
  • 5 hydrological stations in Chernivtsi region were automated;
  • Construction and installation works were carried out and a network of 8 hydrometeorological stations in Chernivtsi and Ivano-Frankivsk regions was implemented;
  • The emergency broadcast system was expanded in 17 settlements of Chernivtsi and Ivano-Frankivsk regions;
  • The GIS system was updated and possible risk maps were modeled;

Training was conducted for the personnel of the Department of Automatic Hydrometeorological Monitoring System and BKC-FloodMonitoring.
